This gorgeous tree is located in the center of Freetown, surrounded by a roundabout and chaotic traffic. I like to think of it as Sierra Leone's peace tree. We drove past it so many times and I wondered what this tree has seen throughout the country's violent history? I hope that this tree will be around long enough to witness peace settle on this land.
It has been a week since I have been back from Sierra Leone. I have so many stories and I could babble on and on about how lovely the people and the country is. Most of my reflections are going on the class blog. So please check there for an account of the things we did, saw, heard and our reactions.
